Insurance Reimbursement for Telemental Health Counseling & Hypnosis Sessions
Reimbursement for Counseling Services:
Many health insurance companies now cover Telemental Health Counseling. Most insurance plans are making exceptions and are covering Telemental Health Video Counseling during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In Maryland, section 15-139 of the Insurance Article mandates that carriers who offer health benefit plans in the State of Maryland provide coverage for telehealth.
However, this law only applies to plans that are regulated by the State of Maryland. This means individual, small group, and fully-insured large group plans. The law does not apply to employer-sponsored self-funded plans. Most people are covered by self-funded plans through their employers. It also does not apply to out-of-state plans. Therefore, it is important to call your insurance company to verify your Telemental Health benefits.
I am in-network with the following insurance companies:
- Aetna
- Carefirst BCBS
- Magellan
- Cigna
**If Jennifer is not in-network with your insurance provider then you would be responsible for paying for your sessions up front at each session. If you have out-of-network benefits then you can submit for reimbursement. Please contact Jennifer for session rates.**
Reimbursement for Hypnosis Services:
Jennifer does not submit claims to insurance companies for hypnosis services. You are responsible for paying for hypnosis sessions upfront at your sessions. There are different payment options available. Please contact Jennifer for rate information.
