Will insurance cover this program?
Insurance does not typically cover relationship education or structured couples programs unless a mental health diagnosis is being treated.
This program is educational and skill-based in nature and is not billed to insurance providers.
Is this program effective or helpful?
Research on structured relationship assessments shows that couples who participate often experience improved communication, increased relationship satisfaction, and a lower likelihood of long-term relationship breakdown in the populations studied.
Many couples use this type of program to build a stronger foundation before marriage or to strengthen an existing relationship. It has been shown to reduce divorce by 31%.
Is this program based on religion or faith?
This is a non-religious, research-based relationship program designed to support couples from all backgrounds.
When appropriate, sessions can be adapted to reflect your personal values, cultural background, or belief system, including Jewish, Christian, interfaith, or non-religious perspectives.
Can this be used for premarital requirements?
In some cases, couples may be able to use a completion certificate for premarital requirements depending on their officiant, church, or local guidelines.
A certificate is provided at the end of the program, but acceptance varies, so it is always best to confirm with your officiant in advance.
Are sessions virtual, and do I need to be local?
All sessions are held online via video, allowing you to participate from any private, comfortable location. The sessions are educational in nature and do not include traditional counseling, making the program accessible to couples across the United States.
What happens if more serious concerns come up?
If it becomes clear during the process that a couple would benefit from more intensive or therapeutic support, this will be discussed openly, and appropriate referrals will be provided. The program is designed as a structured educational experience and not therapy. It is important that couples receive the level of care that best meets their needs.
Does this program address parenting or family dynamics?
Yes. The program includes a discussion of parenting styles and family roles when relevant to the couple. There is also a specialized version of the assessment that focuses more deeply on parenting, co-parenting, blended families, and step-family dynamics to support those transitions.
Is there support for couples considering adoption or foster care?
Yes. There is a dedicated version of the assessment for couples preparing to adopt or become foster parents. This version is often used in professional agency settings during the home study process and is intended to help couples reflect on readiness, expectations, communication patterns, and parenting alignment as they prepare to welcome a child into their home.
Can we return for additional support later?
Yes. Many couples choose to return for occasional follow-up or refresher sessions during important life transitions such as engagement, marriage, parenting, or other major changes. Optional check-in sessions are available whenever additional structured support is helpful.
